12/12/2023 0 Comments Killing floor 2 prestige ps4Killing Floor 2 runs at an increased frame rate when using a PS4 Pro on a 1080p display. When playing on a 1080p TV, Killing Floor 2 is effectively super sampled, resulting in much higher quality, smoother anti-aliasing.Īll of this is achieved without compromising on performance. When these dynamic shadows are used they will be crisper and higher resolution on PS4 Pro then the standard PS4. Killing Floor 2’s custom deferred renderer uses a number of shadowing techniques including dynamic shadows. In addition to the ultra textures, the extra memory allowed us to increase our dynamic shadow resolution. These high-res textures will be used whether the player is playing on a 4K TV or a standard 1080p display. The ultra textures add extra surface detail to everything in the game including first person weapons, arms, zeds, and the levels themselves. The extra memory on PS4 Pro allows us to activate our ultra textures that have higher resolution over the standard PS4. Killing Floor 2’s over-the-top gore system has never looked better with persistent blood reflecting the world and characters in high resolution. Enemies (Zeds) in the world seen at a medium to long distances have many more pixels defining them, making it just a bit easier to get that head shot. Perhaps best to save any more expansive new game design/balancing/progression systems for a Killing Floor 3, if that's in the cards for Tripwire Interactive.Environment details such as foliage and distant level meshes have a new level of definition. KF2 is pretty much in 'maintenance mode' now, with facile seasonal updates using community content, bug fixes, and 'official' DLC items to sell for a trickle of game revenue. Who am I kidding: KF2 will not receive another progression path, nor level cap increase (with tweaked post-HoE 'official' new difficulty), nor new modifiers to earn for perk trees, etc. I believe one's game profile/save does track accumulated XP in the background (even if you haven't reset via Prestige), so perhaps a new progress system could use that data as a basis. Especially if that path does actually award some minor gameplay advantages.Ī purely cosmetic grind/stepping stone pre-req needed to access a new advancement system that affects gameplay - that would be lame. I do hope if TWI/Saber ever decide to jury-rig another post-25 grind mechanism into KF2 that they DO NOT use the current Prestige as a pre-requisite for this new grind path. Without that excuse I probably would have continued not to give a damn. Not terribly interested in cosmetics or dressed-up perk icons, and the idea of re-grinding on lower difficulty sounded awfully boring and pointless.Įventually I did max Prestige a couple perks, mainly due to leveling up a friend new to the game. So when Prestige did get inserted in KF2, and with absolutely zero gameplay ramifications to pursue, I really couldn't be bothered. These are perks that - without exaggerating - would've likely accumulated enough XP to hit 25 dozens of times before Prestige was even added to the game. I still have a few 25 perks I haven't bothered to Prestige, several years later.
